I recognise it again, the remote beach, the cliffs with the unique trees and the butterflies of my youth, as I return to the Wild River again with my father and Felipe, my twelve-year-old son. „Can you cross this river?”, asked Felipe, and I remember my adventure with the raft, the danger and the courage, the Swiss army knife, the pride and the fear I felt in that summer. Back then, nobody crossed the Wild River. The people of the region and even the deer and the wild boar used to walk for hours to reach the bridge; only the trout managed to overcome the fierce current with their leaps. |
